Fearless Books is proud to announce the revival of the FEARLESS REVIEWS, the most elegant and eloquent online format dedicated to reviews of independently published books.
See what independent publishers had to say about our first incarnation, from 1998 to 2006. We suspended publication due to a lack of operating funds, but we have returned with an economical Sponsorship program designed to sustain the Reviews. When you become a Sponsor, you get an advertisement for your book or company placed on our site for a full year, PLUS the opportunity to have 1-4 books considered for a Fearless Review during the year. Here are the terms:

$95.00$75 for a basic annual Sponsorship – includes online listing for your book or website, including 50 words of description and a hyperlink appearing on the Sponsors Page. Your ad will show for one year on the Fearless Books site, currently drawing 160,000+ visitors annually, a number which will grow as word of the revived Reviews spreads.
$95 for Premium Sponsorship – includes company logo or book cover, 100 words of book or company description, and hyperlink to your website, appearing on the Sponsors Page for a full year.
Our aim is to make the Sponsors Page a valuable publicity platform for independent publishers at extremely low rates. Compare our rates to any other online advertising opportunities, and you’ll see just how low they are. We can do this because we’re not trying to make a lot of money, but simply sustain the Reviews. Our rates will rise as our readership increases, so now is the time to lock in a full year of steadily increasing exposure at the least cost.
Sponsorship also qualifies you for consideration of 1-4 book titles yearly for the Fearless Reviews. You must be a Sponsor to submit any books for review. Sponsorship does NOT guarantee that any title will be reviewed. For information on how we choose books for review, see Submission Guidelines below.
Books chosen for review will get 3 months exposure. The term may be extended to a full year, with a preferred ordering link added to the review, for $35 (FREE to Premium Sponsors for the first title reviewed). If your book is available on Amazon, we will post our review there as well (see our reviews on Amazon). After we have received your Sponsorship fee, we will send you instructions for submitting your first book for review consideration.
Why are we charging for the opportunity to be reviewed? Simply put, Sponsorships finance the Fearless Reviews. Our reviewers are paid, and we invest in online publicity to spread the word about the Reviews and our Sponsors. When you become a Sponsor, you are not only getting a year of advertising at a very low rate plus the opportunity to receive a Fearless Review, you are also contributing to the vitality of independent publishing as a whole.
The FEARLESS REVIEWS provides an elegant & eloquent showcase for the best work of independent presses and self-publishers. We have a limited format, and are thus highly selective in the books we choose. Our primary selection criteria are excellence, originality, and variety, meaning that we pick the best and most original books we receive for consideration, with an eye toward keeping the widest possible variety of works on display. Although we may sometimes offer constructive criticism, we only write up books that we can honestly recommend to readers. We do not publish negative reviews.
We consider virtually all comers in nonfiction or fiction, adult and children’s literature, but may not have the expertise on hand to review books that are highly technical in nature. Although we will consider books published via print-on-demand (POD) publishing services like iUniverse, XLibris, 1stBooks, BookSurge, etc., we give first priority to self-publishers using their own imprint. (If you are published by a POD firm, please note that you must become a Sponsor under your own name to have your books considered for review.) We do not review books from university presses, as they have institutional funding. We consider e-books, but we still tend to prefer print. Books that are not professionally edited and designed will be at a serious disadvantage in our “best of” selection process.
Unlike most review periodicals, we do not usually consider advance galleys. Please send a copy of your published book as soon as it becomes available; If we choose your book, we will review it on the site as soon as we can fit it in. Our storage space is very limited so we usually have to throw advance galleys away. If you can send a finished, scannable cover with a galley, we will consider that submission but are unlikely to post it before publication of the finished book at any rate. After you become a Sponsor, you will receive further instructions on how and where to submit your book for review.
