COMING SOON:

A new book review
dedicated to self-published titles

Introductory rate:
$175

This is a paid book review feature offered by Fearless Literary Services. We will only review books that we can recommend, so preview submissions are required. If your title is accepted for review, we will send instructions for payment of the $175 fee and submission of a printed copy to one of our reviewers. (This is an introductory rate that will go up to $250 on May 1, 2018.)

Your review will be published in this section for one year, along with preferred ordering links. All accepted titles are also assessed for their representation potential with the Fearless Literary Agency, which has successfully represented self-published titles to mainstream publishers. We are always on the lookout for independently published talent, so we have devised the Reviews partly as a "talent search." Along with your public review, you will receive a private assessment of the book's representation potential. You will also be entitled to a 10% discount (a $250 value) on Fearless publicity services.

To submit a preview,
send a PDF of your self-published book (with cover) to info@fearlessbooks.com. Include links to any online publicity, such as a website or Facebook page. If you do not have a PDF, you can send a print copy to Fearless Books, PO Box 4199, Napa CA 94558 (book submissions are not returnable).

Good writing, competent design, and a professional presentation are the keys to acceptance for the Fearless Reviews. We will try to answer all preview submissions within 30 days.

A BRIGHTLY GUIDED LIFE:
How A Scientist Learned to Hear Her Inner Wisdom
by Ingrid Honkala, PhD

From the moment she nearly drowned in a tank of cold water at the age of three, Ingrid Honkala was aware of other dimensions of life than those most of us normally experience. She was also gifted with the wise input of mysterious “Beings of Light” who gave her invaluable insights and assistance as she faced the challenges of growing up, falling in love, and finding her professional destiny as a research scientist and oceanographer.

In a compelling, tautly written life adventure that journeys from her native Colombia to Europe and her eventual home in the United States — and from a deadly war zone to underwater explorations and a NASA research center — the author reveals how any human experience can be illumined from within. The adventurous twists and turns of the story, as well as the author's native intelligence, serve to place Dr. Honkala's true tale a notch above the crowded field of first-person memoirs. MY MIND BOOK
by Fiona Williams with illustrations by David Williams

Inspired by the wisdom of A Course in Miracles, this book gives children a friendly introduction to the laws which govern their minds, using clear and relatable examples. Young readers are led through tips on how to cool off when they're upset, raise their self-esteem, and become genuinely loving to others. Also included is a Parents' Guide offering tips on how to communicate compassionately and effectively with the children in your life. Caring adults will learn how to be loving supporters while encouraging children to gently speak about their issues, instead of bottling them up.

Author Fiona Williams worked with her illustrator dad, David, to create a very approachable "life lessons" book for the early-reading crowd that achieves teaching without preaching. That's not always an easy task, and certainly one that is easier planned than carried out. Order from:
